Here we start journey of BATHU TEMPLE in kangra region near Jawali or Dhameta of HIMACHAL PRADESH. Story shared by Ricky belongs to FATEHPUR (HIMACHAL PRADESH). This Temple can only be seen during summer time when water level goes down in PONG DAM.

Recently i visited with my friends at BATHU KI LADI (BATHU TEMPLE).

All these photographs clicked when water level is not at the peak, otherwise complete temple take a dip inside the PONG DAM lake. Only some part of a huge piller remain outside the water level (Some Time only when water level low).

If you want to reach at BATHU KI LADI , you will reach there from LAWALI (8-12 KM) or from DHAMETA (3-5 KM). Once you reach there you will see a cluster of antique, unique, tall temples which remain dipped in water for most of the time in an year. Finally temples are exposed during months of March to June. Lots of pilgrims visit these temples during this time.

Bathu Temple were build by PANDAVAS during their "AGYATVAS" and were accessible y all the folks before PONG DAM was built.

Before pong dam was built, this cluster of unique artistic temples used to attract pilgrims from different parts of the country. At that time, there was only the flowing "BEAS" water near the temple and no dam water engulfed them as it does today. It was in 1961 that the work of pong dam started and giving it the final shape in 1970.
